31 Days Bench Makeover

31 Days Bench Makeover

**This bench has been updated again (imagine that) I’ll share that link at the bottom.

This bench had been needing a new coat of paint for a while now.

So I wrote it down on my 31 days goals list!

31 Days to Bring this house to order - Bench Makeover

I found this bench about 5 years ago from an estate sale for $40.  It is wood and handcrafted from the mountains of North Carolina (or so that’s what the owner said.)  I just loved the shape! I had painted it a few years ago but it no longer matched since I had changed our wall colors.

It started like this…

31 Days Bench Before

I used paint I already had at home.  This oops paint I bought a while back because I thought it was a fun color.  The Websters Chalk Paint Powder is a product I was sent for free to just try out.  You just add it to latex paint so that there is no need to prime.  I will say, that did work, but the paint still had the feel of latex paint.  I did wax with Annie Sloan Dark Wax , then distressed with sand paper.

I am very pleased with how it turned out.  I have it in the dining room and it adds a fun element in there that I like.
