DIY Valentine Banner

Do you need a fun little way to spread some love around your home?

This DIY Valentine Banner will be easy for you to create and add to any display.

You can pick up these wooden letters from any hobby or craft store.  I was able to find these at my local Walmart in their craft section.  If you follow me on Instagram then you will already know the fun story behind the letter “O”

I decided I wanted to add pink this year instead of red.  I had this pink paint sample that I had been hoping to find something to paint with it.  It is a pretty shade of pink and I love how it turned out.  I painted the letters then distressed and waxed them.

I looked through my ribbon supplies and found this gimp trim.  I used hot glue to attach the letters to the trim.  I think the texture of the trim with the wood looks really nice together.  You could really use any type of ribbon or rope for your DIY Valentine Banner and it will just as great!

I tucked mine inside of the top drawer of the dresser for my display but it would also look good on the mantel, a book case or a window.

For the rest of my display I used some heart Christmas ornaments that I purchased on clearance in the after Christmas sales.  I bought them with the hopes of using them for Valentine’s Day…so excited they worked out!

I used a picture of me and my honey from his days in the Air Force.  This was actually at his Officer Training graduation ball (circa 1997) …we look like babies! A family picture, with the four of us, is also on display.  Then I really wanted to add a saying so I went into Picmonkey and made a printable.  I used the XOXO…Hugs and Kisses idea…here is what I came up with!

  3. What a beautiful vignette for Valentine’s Day! You were so smart to find heart ornaments after Christmas on sale to use for Valentine’s decor. Thanks for sharing your printable. I so enjoy using them at home and sometimes at school.
