Framed Burlap and Book Pages Project

Framed Burlap and Book Pages Project:

Fall Mantel

Framed Burlap and Book Pages

This was such an easy project that I completed for my upcoming Fall Tour.

Be sure to stop back by Friday September 27th to see all of the fall goodness!

OH yeah, HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!!

The supplies I used for this project:

Frames that I already had on hand.

Foam Poster Board ($1 at Dollar Tree)

Burlap (I received mine from Online Fabric Store at Haven Conference)

Level and knife for marking and cutting the Foam Board

Scrapbook paper (I always have this!)

Gold Thumb Tacks ($2)

Book pages (Cut from .50 thrift store books)

Spray Adhesive (I keep this in my supplies and it last a long time)

Box tape

This foam board was actually the perfect height for my project so I only had to cut the board in half!

After I cut the poster board I then cut the burlap about an inch bigger.

Framed Burlap Foam Board

This is the best Spray Adhesive for fabric projects.

It allows you to reposition the fabric if you need to.

I used box tape to hold down the raw edges of the burlap on the back of the foam board.

It’s not beautiful but no one will see that part.

This is how great the Burlap looks from the front!

Next I centered my scrapbook paper and book pages.

I used the gold thumb tacks to secure them into place. This is why you use the foam poster board!

You can use the thumb tacks however you wish, this is the design part.

I am really thrilled with how this project turned out!

  1. Love this so had to print it out. Think I might just have all the supplies to make these, hope so. Will have to go digging in stashes. Such fun to make messes to make awesome projects. You haven’t seen my studio or you’d know that’s nothing new. I clean it up but then I start digging to find things to make things and whammo, it’s a worse mess. Why do I bother? So I can walk in the room to find anything, lol.
Such a great project, easy and looks fantastic. Glad you shared this, love, love it. Happy week
