Fall Home Tour

Fall home tour for a colorful creative style. Decorated with lots of thrifted pieces.

Fall Tour Collage

If you have stumbled on this fall tour from years ago you will see just how colorful and thrifty it was. My style has changed and grown so much. My approach to seasonal decorating is much more neutral now. I have a new blog post that shows off my best fall home decor elements.

Welcome to Fall!

I have to say, I love Fall! It is my favorite season of all!

There’s falling leaves, cool temps and college football! {Clemson Tigers!!}

I get the chance to show some southern hospitality and welcome you into our home!

Please come in, I’m so glad you are here!

I have used this grapevine wreath for a few years.

I just change it up through out the year to reflect the season.

The Dining Room

This room is a fun room. I love the bold red and black.

So I wanted my Fall decor to be bold yet not too overwhelming.

It started with the Aged Zinc Pumpkin.

Then I got carried away and had 3 dining table centerpiece options.

The stained wood “tray” I built from scraps of wood in my husbands shed.

Yep, I used a kreg jig and all!

This gold stud pumpkin came on the scene after I had taken all my pics for the dining room!

But I had to show you how cute it is!! Just added some gold thumb tacks to my faux zinc pumpkin.

The Family Room:

The place where we hang out, lounge and watch football!

Did I mention we love college football?!

My daughter says when she is older she will replace Erin Andrews and Sam Ponder 😉

This room started with the Framed Burlap and Book Pages Project.

AND of course, pumpkins are the perfect Clemson orange!

The little silver bowl with the green ball  was .50 from a thrift store!

MOST all of my home accessories are found from yard sales and thrift stores.

This stool was a recent yard sale find $4 and the tray was silver but I spray painted it.

The sequins flowers on this wreath are part of my daughters fabric collection.

We bought those last summer at Mood Fabric in NYC.

I attached them with straight pins so not to damage them.

Fall Tour Burlap wreath

I used my burlap tote bag that I received from Haven Conference as a place to store my blankets.

  1. WOW, now that’s a Clemson Family! This is the first year we didn’t buy season football tickets in many, many years…we are still sad about it. We have children that compete in Saturday sports so we have been missing too many games for the expense. So we bought a really BIG TV to feel like we are there 🙂 I will send you a personal email about the SC art, I would love to sell you one! ~Sonya

  2. Hi Sonya! I love your home. I am a Clemson grad & have lived in Liberty my entire life. My brother, uncle, aunt and 3 of my cousins also graduated from Clemson. I have a cousin teaching there now. My best friend teaches there also. My Dad retired from there, so needless to day- my blood runneth orange! I feel sure you must be close by. We tailgate in Lot 1 at all the Clemson games- where the big orange firetruck is! Hope we can get together & share ideas! Go Tigers! I would love to buy one of the SC vintage signs you made.

  3. So happy to have you here! Thank you for all of your sweet comments! I too love using my initial around the house. The dining room wall color is a Sherwin Williams color called Gauntlet Grey. It is the perfect color! ~Sonya

  4. Hi! I just started reading your blog—found you through Instagram and The Nester. My last name is Barker too! Love all your “B”‘s I’m your home…love decorating with my initial as well. Love your dining room…what is the color if your dining room wall? We are getting ready to paint our dining room and want a grayish-beige. Would love to know the name of the color you chose.

  5. It looks so cozy! Go, Clemson! (My husband does some work for them. If we have to choose a Southern Team…it’s Clemson. Other than that, we’re just Notre Dame fans.) We’re actually considering retiring to SC.

  6. That scale looks very much like one I just got from my grandmother who was born in 1918. According to my uncle my grandfather used it on his “Store to your Door Truck” maybe in the 30’s or 40’s! I thought that was super cool!

  7. Your home is lovely. The fall touches add such warmth to a home. Fall is my favorite season too. Btw…love your hound’s-tooth touches…Roll Tide! 🙂

  8. So warm and inviting. Thanks for inviting us into your pretty home.

  9. I feel certain there would be some great sales somewhere in between SC and NC…that would be a blast! Thanks for your sweet comments and
for having me on the tour! It has been a blessing. Have a great weekend ~Sonya

  10. Sonya, you and I should go yardsaling. We could meet halfway! Love all your finds and the interesting ways you used them. Your daughter did amazing, by the way. I know you’re proud. I’m a UNC fan but I can forgive the Clemson orange because I’m grooving on coral these days and that’s close enough! Thanks so much for joining us on our fall tour!

  11. Everything looks so pretty Sonya! Especially love all your wreaths…so very Fallish!
    Blessings,
    Cindy

  13. Your dining set is absolutely amazing!!! Just gorgeous. I have to say though, my fave photo is the one with the flowers hanging from the chair. It’s so sweet and simple … I pinned it! Sharing your home tour on my Facebook page today!

  14. You did such a great job with all of your fall decor, Sonya! Everything looks so pretty and inviting. I enjoyed your fall tour very much. BTW – great use of your tote from Haven!

  15. Hi Sonya,
I really felt at home reading all the Clemson Tiger references and seeing the SC map! I grew up near Clemson and went to Clemson back in the 70s and love it dearly! After seeing how you used your Haven tote, I’m going to pull mine out and do something similar! Loved seeing all your fall decorations!

  16. You are too sweet Richella, Thank you! Duke and UNC…those are some smart boys you have there! Hope you have a great weekend! ~Sonya

  17. Sonya, your home looks wonderful!! So y’all are college football fans, huh? We’re mostly into college basketball (we live in Durham, NC; one son went to Duke and another to UNC-Chapel Hill), but we love NFL, so we’re always glad for the fall to roll around!

You are brilliant to use your Haven tote like that. I think I may have to copy you on that one. And the rug as a table runner? Also brilliant!

Thanks so much for opening your home!

  18. Thanks so much Pam! That scale is one of my favorite thrifted pieces…my sister actually got that for me from a sale many years ago. Thanks for stopping ny my blog, have a great weekend! ~Sonya
