Five Minute Friday: Remember

Five Minute Friday: Remember

Today I am doing something a little different on my blog.  I am joining Lisa-Jo Baker and others who write for 5 minutes on a given promt.  No thinking about it or correcting or pondering what to say…just set the timer and GO.

SO…here I GO!

I have found myself lately looking back, at my kids when they were little.  As I remember all the days we bounced on the trampoline, played “airport” in the closet, made tickets for everyone to see their skateboard, bicycle, rollerskate shows…I remember the fun.

I remember it like it was yesterday.  I am brought out of my daydream to reality.

I remember I now have teenagers who still make me smile.

I remember that God has blessed me far beyond measure as a mother.

I remember that I am here to teach and train them in the way they should go.

I remember that although they seem much bigger these days, they are still young on the inside.

I remember they still need a mother to tell them how proud I am of them.  A mother who demonstrates the love of Jesus to them so they can share it with others.

I remember I have so much to be thankful for…

AND here I STOP!

Whew…5 minutes goes fast!  I encourage you to head over to and read all that was linked up.  Leaving encouraging comments ALWAYS helps.

A special Thanks to Barbie at My Freshly Brewed Life.  I have found her blog encouraging.

Happy Friday Friends,

  1. It certainly does go fast…I’m in that same stage of life. My oldest is about to turn 19 and my youngest is 9 (so I still have a few “little” years with her…maybe?) I’m with you. And I’m thankful to be thankful! Love your blog (btw…I have the adorable child theme also and have been trying to “customize” it with css…nightmare! 😉

  2. Love this! I remember doing lots of those same things with Seth. What a great reminder of how blessed i am as well!
