Merry Christmas

We have already attended 3 family parties and a beautiful Christmas service at our church.  Today, on Christmas Eve, we have a family tradition.  Just the four of us!

It started when our kids were little and we lived away from family.  Ray and I had decided that we didn’t want to travel every year on Christmas.  Although we missed our family, we wanted our kids to have a special time at home.  So, we always go see a movie and eat dinner at Outback.  After we get home the kids always open one gift.  It’s a special day for us, especially as the kids get older.

I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

  1. When I had my 2nd. child he was born on Dec. 21st. but he was actually due on the 24th .I ran for a bus carrying my 2 1/2 yr. old and #2 was born 3 days earlier. We lived in same town as my parents but with a new baby and a 2 1/2 yr old I really didn’t feel like spending the day at my parents. Just wanted to stay home to recover. It was raining cats and dogs on Christmas eve night but we went to my parents house anyway. I had just gotten home from hospital that day. We spent the day at home on Christmas, phew.
Good idea and tradition to have your own things you do, be together on Christmas. Family is wonderful but each other is even better. Merry Christmas and Happy healthy New year.

  2. I love that tradition! I completely agree about traveling for Christmas. My family is all over the country but our favorite thing to do is stay home. It just is so special to be at home for Christmas. Enjoy your blooming onion! 🙂

  3. Merry Christmas, sweet friend! It has been a couple of crazy, busy months for us! Whew! Now is the time to sit back, relax and enjoy the next 2 weeks with your beautiful family. Have a lovely holiday and wishing many blessings in 2014! XXOO Christy
