Mom Meets Style has been a brain child of mine for almost a year. I have wanted to share it with you all but was afraid of how it would be accepted because this is a DIY and home decor blog. BUT in reality it’s much more. My dreams for it from the start encompassed more than just our home.
Beautiful Life, Beautiful Home, Beautiful You
The reason I was afraid to share any type of personal style post was because I didn’t feel qualified. How could I share with you cute photos outfits, jewelry, makeup and more if I was walking around all day looking a hot mess.
Look, there are perks to working from home but it is also super easy to get in a style rut. Being a stay at home/work from home mom all of these years put me in a rut. I have been taking better care of myself first and foremost for me because it builds confidence. Secondly for my husband because he totally deserves the best me! Then for you! Yes you, the mom out there who feels like she has lost herself in a pajamas or out of style clothes.
Starting today and each Friday (fingers crossed, that is my plan) after today I will be sharing fashion and style post. Including the organic skincare and professional makeup I use, and what ever else I find to up my style game.
Mom Meets Style TRUTHS:
- I am not a fashion expert, fashionista, or whatever else you want to call it.
- I am a forty something, perimenopausal mom or two teens.
- I have body parts that need help and sometimes need camouflaged.
- I will never wear a shoe that needs to be “broken in!”
- I am frugal and buy most things as budget friendly as possible.
- I will share real life photos most of the time taken with my iPhone 7 Plus.
Let’s get started with a little taste of whats to come on Mom Meets Style!

One thing I love is stretch denim. It’s trendy and is forgiving on my stomach which fluctuates throughout the month. These cuffed crop skinny jeans by 1822 Denim are great. I can dress them up or down and wear with sandals or booties as fall closes in.
The shape of the top is another piece I love for my ever changing body. The ruffled bottom is flattering for lots of figures. It will also pair well later on with a button up sweater or denim jacket. My daughter and I ordered these from an online site. Always check the measurements not just the size when ordering online.
One thing I wear a lot of are comfortable shoes. No way, no how am I buying a pair of shoes that are not comfortable from the get go. Aerosoles shoes to me always seemed like they were only made for my grandmother. I was pleasantly surprised last summer while in NYC when I visited one of the retails stores in person. I left there with 6 pairs! Even my 17 year old daughter borrows them. The one’s I am wearing here I have in two colors, black and nude.
Jewelry can be cute and affordable. I am wearing paparazzi jewelry here and it is all $5. Seriously check it out. The pieces of jewelry are always changing so it’s hard to link directly to each piece so if you see something you like on the website you better grab it.
A couple of my blogging friends are sharing their fashion post to so be sure to check these girls out!
