Holiday Storage and Organization

Smart holiday storage and organization ideas to make storing your Christmas decor easy and efficient. Having the right items ready to go once the holidays are over is a great way to end the season.

One of my biggest secrets for keeping an organized home is decluttering items each season.

My top tips for Holiday Organization:

  • Declutter your holiday decor while your home is decorated. You may feel like you don’t have time but trust me, it makes the task much easier. Anything you didn’t decorate with could be donated or offered to a family member.
  • Sort and store ornaments by color. You may need to store your special breakable ornaments differently but for all the shatterproof balls and soft ornaments, this works very well. I used 95% of the same ornaments from year to year but I do like to change up the color pattern.
  • Use clear bins or color coded ones to make your Christmas decor obvious when storing. The red and green heavy duty storage bins are perfect for this.

Doing these two things are simple but effective ways for creating an organized home.

One of my favorite things on the Lowe’s website is the curated organized home page. It lets you choose a category for what room needs the most attention.

Start with one space when organizing your home. Once you have that area done you will be motivated to do ever more. Plus, you will thank yourself next year when you start decorating for Christmas.
