How to neutralize orange
In order to tone down orange, you should use a complementary colors from the opposite side of the color wheel. The opposite of orange on the color wheel is blue. Neutral colors and natural elements help balance out orange.
The thought behind using a complementary color, like blue, green and gray, is not to remove the orange color but to balance it out. Colors opposite to one another on the color wheel do just that, they balance each other.
