Makeup Brush Holder

It’s time for another round of Thrift Store Decor with my blogging friends! I always love to see what everyone shares. All of the links for this months projects will be linked to the end of the post.

This month’s thrift store find is perfect to keep for yourself or for gift giving like Mother’s Day. This makeup brush holder is great for moms of all ages and by adding some makeup brushes can make this a really great gift. (*affiliate link to follow)

This is my favorite Makeup Brush Set that my daughter and I both have used for many years. They are super soft and hold up very well.

One of the places at the thrift store I like to look through are the accessories. The shelves that are packed with lots of small items. I have found some real gems here in the past. I always start on one end and do a quick scan all the way down the isle. I have found a pewter cup ($1) and a brand new leopard throw pillow ($2) so it is worth your time to step away from the furniture section and do a little digging.

I always see lots of desk supplies. Most of the time they are basically brand new. Many times I pass on these items but you never know what you will find and how you will use it. That’s why I always grab really cheap items that could be used for many things.

Which is what I did for this post. I grabbed this pencil holder.

Then I embellished it with Washi tape and a Sharpie paint pen.

This would be lots of fun for mom if the kids got involved and used their craftiness!

You could use a stencil but I just free handed some polka dots.

Don’t forget flowers are always a great idea for Mom.

I hope this DIY makeup brush holder has inspired you to think about all of the smaller items you can grab at the thrift store to make your own. Great gifts don’t have to be expensive!
