Personalized Burlap Art

I am so excited to be sharing this personalized burlap art next Sunday, February 16th at the Michaels and Hometalk Pinterest Party! The party is taking place in 100 Michaels stores across the US and Canada from 1-4pm, each with a featured blogger at the party to help you with your crafting. I was asked by Hometalk to be the featured blogger in the Greenville SC store located at 20 Haywood Rd GREENVILLE, SC 29607. Of course, I said YES!! I would LOVE to meet you all, so if you are local, please let me know if you can come!

This is the Pinterest inspired project that I chose to create because burlap and monograms are especially popular. There will be other projects for you to choose from if burlap isn’t for you, no worries! All you have to do at the event is purchase the supplies for the project you want to create, head to the craft room and I will be there to help you! No need to buy adhesives and paint brushes, they will be provided. There will even be someone on hand to show you exactly where in the store all of the supplies are located!

Here is how I made my personalized canvas art with these supplies. Supplies also used but left out of the photo were acrylic paint and Mod Podge.

Paint the wooden pieces first so they have time to dry while you are cutting out your paper.

Then used the Mod Podge to apply the paper! I am loving this aqua paint color…it’s so fresh for Spring, and with a weather forecast for snow and ice this week, these springtime colors are inspiring!

Next I used E-6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive (can be purchased at Michaels) to glue to wood piece to the burlap canvas.

I also had thought of adding the butterfly but decided to leave it off. I wanted you to see how it would look in case you decided to add it to your project.

I have a frame similar to yours but think it’s a bit bigger, also is open in back. You have just inspired me so now I know what I’ll do with it. Love your wall art, it’s great. So simple but so pretty. You always seem to make such pretty projects. It amazes me the incredible talent out in blog land. I feel privileged to be able to have access to it. I won’t have the same paper to put on mine but have something I think will work so it’s more like my own art. Someday I’d like to make one like yours.
