How to incorporate simple Summer decorating ideas into your home allowing you to spruce up for the season.
I’m back today with a very talented group of bloggers sharing our simple summer decorating ideas. It’s officially summer at our house now that the school year is complete. This calls for a little decor sprucing around the house. The Seasonal Simplicity Home Tour, hosted by April from House by Hoff and Krista from The Happy Housie is a way to share simple tips and decorating ideas for each season of the year.
I’m thrilled to have you here. A little about me. I’m a wife, mom, and entrepreneur. My passion is encouraging women to find potential in themselves and their homes.
Now let’s talk simple summer decorating ideas for the living room.
Simple Summer Decorating Ideas
I’m a big believer in less is more. I don’t go over the top in seasonal decor so spending little or no money is best. Shopping around the home is the best way to refresh any room. This Rae Dunn Mug makes the perfect little planter. I clipped some leaves from my fern to add to it.
Using some of my favorite magazines I went through and grabbed all of the ones that were white on the spine. This gave a clean cohesive look to the stack.
The mantel is a place I like to keep simple as well. The canvas art is one I have moved around a lot. I pulled it from the attic to help add color to the room. The nature scenery makes me think of long summer days.
For the sofa two new pillow covers from my sister’s shop were perfect. Neutral tones are my favorite in general but this touch of coral orange is so homey. Check out the online shop, Upcountry Living Market, for pillow covers and vintage home finds. New pillow cover options are being loaded soon.
Having the right throw pillows for a leather couch is a must.
Let’s recap how simple it is to freshen up a room for summer
- Shop your home.
- Use ordinary home items in unordinary ways.
- Swap out pillow covers.
That’s it. Mantel and coffee table restyling and two new pillow covers complete my simple summer decorating ideas. Like I said, less is more.
Now be sure to head over to Sincerely, Sara D. for the next stop on the tour. Then check out all of the homes each day this week.
