Quick Tip Friday Clean Home Challenge
Effective ways to take care of your home easy. This quick tip Friday Clean Home Challenge will get you motivated and in a clean home in no time.
Today’s quick tip is about the everyday cleaning not Spring cleaning, that will come soon enough!
We all long for our home to be and stay clean but sometimes we lack the motivation to JUST DO IT! That’s why I thought I would share what works for me.
I call it the Clean Home Challenge. I do it to motivate myself into getting off my butt and just getting it done.
It’s like the game show where you phone a friend for help except with the clean home challenge you can call or text your sister, mom, neighbor, best friend or even a Facebook or Instagram friend in order to gain some encouragement.
Let me just put this out here…I don’t recommend you use your husband for this one…his reminding you to get it done may just annoy you 🙂
My sister and I are each others go to accountability partners…it gets comical most of the time but it really does help!
As you can see, I text her pics of my mess! She will respond appropriately, LOL. Really though later on in the day or the next day she will text back and say, “did you get that room cleaned?” It is a great motivator.
It allows my dining room to go from the photo in the above text to the below photo!
Most of the time it’s the small cleaning jobs that get the most text time…
In general this helps me keep a somewhat clean home. Our home isn’t perfectly neat and clean all of the time, it is lived in but it is rarely out of control for very long. That usually happens when we start an unplanned home project.
Keeping my home clean is important to me and my family. It also allows me to be ready to do the deep cleaning when the time comes up. Not sure about you but I am one of those people who has to have a clean home to get an even cleaner home…make sense? So when it comes time to clean the blinds, strip the sheets, or mop the floor I am ready to go!
I’d love to hear what works for you in the house cleaning department! It’s always great to learn new tricks.
I’m working on creating a house cleaning routine printable to make things even easier for myself! I’ll share it here with you all in the next couple of days.
In the mean time, here is how I clean my hardwood floors.

Have a great day!
My sister and I just did this yesterday! It works for motivation.
That’s a really fun way to get motivation for cleaning indeed. My best friend is kind of a sloppy person and whenever she shows me her messy room, I start threatening her that I would post photos of it on the social media and tag her so that people know whose mess they are looking at lol It really works on her motivation. Thanks for sharing!
Love the idea of getting my sister involved as my coach!! Although she may drive me more crazy than hubby… Wonderful post!! Now… Where to start?
Love those tips! Hoarders is a great motivator…so is inviting guest over. Thanks for sharing Dee.
Have a great day ~Sonya
I get a show I like or Hoarders is inspiring and I play commercial cleaning. Obviously I run around during commercials and get as much done as I can before what I am watching comes back on.
Another is to invite people over tomorrow! No choice and lots of Java!
Love your blog:)
Yes, I see lots of that Shannon! I think I will stick with my sister 🙂
FB shaming works great! Post your mess… and you’ve got to get back on with an after 😉 Love the texts!!
Great idea! I’m the same way, I can’t clean my house if there is clutter. Once the clutter is gone and the house is fairly clean, then I am free to do the “deep” cleaning! I long for the Spring when I can throw these windows open and give this home a good cleaning! I’ve had about all of the winter I can take! Life to the full! Melissa
Great idea! Although my sister may think I’m picking on her so I’ll have to choose my best friend. 🙂 I’ve got a couple of places that need powering through before the weather gets better and we can tackle Spring Cleaning.
