You can’t beat a can a spray paint and a little creativity. I still use spray paint often but if I have a big project I use my dual speed paint sprayer as I did on our bathroom vanity makeover.
Most of the time a good cleaning with a degreaser is all you need before you start your spray paint project.
Spray Paint supplies for most projects
- Spray Paint color of your choice
- Rust-Oleum comfort grip spray handle
- Canvas Drop Cloth
When I buy spray paint I am usually choosing a brand based on the color I am looking for since you can’t custom mix it like you can a can of paint. Next I look for a spray paint that has paint and primer in one. Those seem to work really well for on most brands across the board. If you like a particular brand because it has worked well for you then great!
Dining Room Table and Chairs Spray Paint Project
Our spray painted dining table and chairs is one of the biggest pieces I’ve ever spray painted. Now, 10 years later I still have this dining set. The only thing different is stripping paint off the table top.
Lamp Shade
Patterned lamp shades are making a huge comeback. This stripe painted lamp shade added a fun pattern to a rather bring drum lamp shade.
Console Table Makeover
Spray paint holds up well too. This gold painted table was used in our daughters bathroom as a makeup table. Perfect addition for something we didn’t need to spend lots of money on.
Ceramic Thrift Store Items
You can make a collection of mismatched pieces look cohesive if you refresh dated pieces with spray paint. Look for items with great shape and a theme in common and give them all a coat of the same color paint. Makes for a beautiful collection.
Chandelier
This spray painted chandelier is a reader favorite. You can update your existing light fixture with a good cleaning and a can of spray paint.
Wreath
Grapevine wreaths are my favorite. I most often leave them in the natural color but this time I wanted to try white for this Patriotic Wreath.
Plant Stand
Thrift store items are usually my favorite finds to spray paint. You can rethink how you use them too, like I did here with this iron painted plant stand.
Coasters
Projects like these nautical coasters are great to involve kids. Fun summer project idea to get your kids creativity going.
DIY Jewelry Organizing Frame
Seriously, you can spray paint anything and make a project out of it. This DIY jewelry organizing frame is another project to involve your kids. My daughter and I made this one together for her room.
Aged Zinc Pumpkins
Give plastic pumpkins a makeover with spray paint. These aged zinc look pumpkins I first spray painted them added depth with acrylics. They looked high end and expensive.
Thrift Store Lamp
This thrift store lamp makeover got a coat of gold spray paint and craft paper. Perfect pop for a nightstand.
It is a great time of year for spray paint projects because the weather is mild most places ,so get out there and have some fun. Hopefully you are inspired by something in this post.
Thanks so much! Happy Friday!
Luv your ideas……….so inspiring! Thank you!
The power of paint never ceases to amaze me. I think you’re a pro at it, Sonya. 🙂 Those zinc pumpkins are still my favorite! I’ve been waiting to spray paint things in our house all winter because that never goes well. So glad it’s painting weather now!!!
